Highlights

Im working on the first layer.
Trying to figure out where the highlights and the deep shadows will be and getting a general idea of how I want the composition to play out.

God

And now tonight I am working on the rest of the drawing :) Getting God set up on top. .. Still kind of figuring out how I want his face. But otherwise the general sketch is done and being put it right now. :)

Quote with decor

Here is the quote box and its additions to tie it into the rest of the illustration. :)
I love carnage and dripping done in pen. Its kind of one of the reasons I wanted to start this project. Almost every sketchbook I own (about 75) has something I've drawn with carnage in it. Its just fun for me to do, especially with le pens.

Quote

This is the first part of the series I've done on the actual piece! It's exciting to actually start it.
I've decided to gice the quotes almost theor own free space and then I will incorporate the illustrations into the frames and onto the rest of the page.
This is the quote and frame before any additions.

Added color (Color study #2)

..so..I added plenty of fun to give it a feel of darkness and also give myself play of not only having the shadows as blacks greens and blues...theres is a little red and brown thrown in.

Color study #1

Trying to figure out what colors I wanted gave me a very green feel. I want the first image to be mainly greens browns and blues before going into blacks..i want it very dark in general..but with this obviously there wasnt enough darkness to be able to fade into the blacks...

Some hand sketches to get ideas of how I want the drawings to go.

I decided to make the first illustraion of the series the part when the angels are falling from Heaven.
I have been working from one of the drawing books, that my Dad gave me a while ago, to figure out what I want to do with the actual figures and how they will generally look throughout the whole series of drawings. So these are really just studies of figuring out how muscles work. But it's a lot of fun to do :)
